Recommendations

The End of Illness, by Dr. Agus

A must read. Dr. Agus has written a critical book on how we can prevent our bodies from “cancering”. There are many fantastic, and some controversial, takeaways from his findings.

Books by Tara Stiles (my yoga guide)

These two books written by Tara Stiles, Slim Calm Sexy Yoga and Yoga Cures go hand in hand. SCSY teaches the ease of yoga while her second book, Yoga Cures, evolves the conversation to how yoga can make positive impacts on your health. I can tell you first hand that she is, as Vanity Fair put it, “…the coolest yoga instructor ever.” Tara makes yoga approachable, easy, fun and open to everyone.  I guarantee you’ll be practicing some poses before you even finish reading.

Food Rules & In Defense of Food, by Michael Pollan

The two books that inspire my eat habits are Michael Pollan’s Food Rules and In Defense of Food. They set the bar for how we think about food and it’s impact on us. Too often we forget the importance of food, and these are the two very best texts on the subject.

This has become my go-to reference guide for all whole foods and the nutrition they provide.

What I’m reading

American Dietetic Association’s Complete Food and Nutrition Guide

The Science of Yoga by William J. Broad

What I’m reading next

Living Yoga by Georg Feuerstein

Feel free to leave a comment with your recommendations! Happy reading! :)
